Yoga. Joy, made visible.

The moon goddess welcomes you,

Namaste

While practicing the beautiful, delicate and powerful Asanas of yoga I am completely aware of my mental and physical state. I know if I am not concentrating, I know if I am not breathing properly, I know if my mind is drifting to other things. And I am able to re-focus, to remind myself that I am reducing stress, gaining strength, massaging my internal organs and cleansing the lungs and blood with healthy breath.

I am able to remind myself that when I have difficulty getting into a pose, if I just close my eyes and direct my breathing into the area that resists I feel myself slowly comply. I feel a gratitude for everything and everyone around me and am constantly amazed by my own abilities. I know that with each breath, each sweep of an arm, each bend of a knee, each majestic warrior, brings me closer to my true, one self. Each meditation leads me deeper within and the inner light is illuminated time and again.

As a teacher, it is these things that I wish to pass onto my students. It is these gifts that are obtained from yoga practice. Discouragement and inability need not be thought for it is my goal, my duty as a teacher to convey that with the melding of the body, the mind and the spirit...all things are possible.

As a student I continue to learn we have our own path to follow, our own inner guide to heed and our own love affair with the yoga way of life.

 Om Shanti
